Our History

After many years of working in the radio communications sector as a
senior technical support specialist for General Electric in London,
Mr. Shoichi Matsui decided to embark on an opportunity to start his
own company and Forest City Communications was formed. 

Forest City Communications opened its doors in 1983 to serve the forest
city and surrounding area as a provider of affordable two-way radio communication solutions to meet private and business applications. Early on in the company’s history it became clear that there were numerous opportunities to help people with their communications needs that were beyond the low-priced, technically simple “walkie-talkie” solution of the day.  Mr. Matsui realized that one key element to remaining competitive and to serve the increasing customer base was to ensure that Forest City Communications’ technical knowledge and product offering grew as radio and communications technology changed. Additionally, it became clear that business success depended on understanding our customers’ needs – a commitment we take seriously.

With those guiding principles, Forest City Communications is proud of the fact that we have been able to provide our services to many business sectors throughout the area such as agricultural, government, industrial, transportation, construction, health services, and entertainment – to name a few. Similarly, our commitment to customers requiring communications solutions for private use has been an equally important part of our business throughout the years and we continue to work hard maintaining that commitment.

Forest City Communications was built on two simple principles that have sustained us for close to 30 years. We believe to this day that providing a quality product at an affordable price coupled with outstanding customer service are essential. We remain dedicated to providing efficient, reliable and courteous sales and service.
